Hoitt Avenue Baptist Church was organized on December 6, 1953. The original church was located in an old airplane garage. The church originated with 13 charter members and an additional 13 people joined on that December day.

This woman is elected by the Willing Workers, she is an outstanding person who gives unconditionally, and is very supportive of her church. She also has no natural children of her own and that is why she is recognized with the honor of the title. The "Mother of the Church" holds this honor until her passing.
